In 1948 Wilhelm Kühner founded the company in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. His experience from many years of working in the air conditioning and drying industry laid the foundation for the manufacturing of finned tube heat exchangers, air heaters and air coolers.
In 1954 the company relocated to Münchingen.
In 1970 the first scientific trials were undertaken with the University of Stuttgart.
In 1974 Kühner KG was formed, a limited partnership managed by Wilhelm Kühner and his son Paul.
In 1984 Dipl.-Ing.(FH) Paul Kühner, a graduate engineer, took over the company.
In 1985 further research projects followed with Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences. Demand for heat exchangers grew.
In 1995 Paul Kühner’s daughter Elisabeth joined the company as Commercial Manager.
In 2000 Kühner Wärmetauscher GmbH & Co. KG was formed with father Paul as Technical Director and daughter Elisabeth as Commercial Director.
In 2007 Elisabeth Poša (née Kühner) took over as Managing Director. Paul Kühner continues to carry out consulting for the company.
